FILTER SYNTHESIS
MMICAD SYNTHESIS Version 3 incorporates lumped element and distributed filter synthesis capabilities and provides accurate circuit synthesis and filter design capability for a wide variety of RF and microwave filters.

MMICAD SYNTHESIS is organized as a set of programs, each for a separate filter topology. This allows inclusion of characteristics and variations unique to a specific circuit design. A MMICAD design interface, a common menu format and interfacing to the MMICAD linear simulator and MMICAD LAYOUT results in an easy-to-use, streamlined design system.

MMICAD SYNTHESIS Version 3 hosts a total of 35 filter design modules in Microstrip, Lumped Element, Stripline and Waveguide categories.
|
LUMPED ELEMENT SYNTHESIS
For a typical lumped element filter circuit, the program will:
- Calculate filter circuit values
- Calculate filter frequency response with graphics output, including dissipative losses, from a lowpass prototype
- Substitute standard component values for a built-in library of values
- Create an OrCAD macro file which will insert the circuit schematic with circuit values
- Write MMICAD files for design verification, Monte Carlo analysis and temperature analysis
- Write PSpice files for design verification, Monte Carlo, worst case and temperature analysis
|
DISTRIBUTED ELEMENT SYNTHESIS
For a typical microstrip filter circuit, the program will:
- Calculate transmission line circuit element
- Calculate filter frequency response with graphics output, including dissipative losses, from a lowpass prototype
- Calculate microstrip circuit dimensions, with correction for junction and discontinuity effects
- Provide a display of the microstrip circuit
- Write a DXF file and interface to MMICAD LAYOUT for mask generation
- Write MMICAD files for design verification, Monte Carlo analysis and temperature analysis
