Photoexposure displays are produced for military aerial reconnaissance film marking, commercial film marking and for non-impact printing. Displays for such applications are normally equipped with either a fiber-optic face plate for contact type printing or a self-focusing fiber-optic when photoreceptor contact is not practical. Conventional relay optics and collimators are also used.

Visual display applications include avionic, medical and industrial instrumentation. Contrast enhancement filters can be provided for viewing under high ambient light conditions. The various mechanisms include:
